Gli Emmy Awards 2026 hanno incoronato le migliori serie e interpretazioni dell’ultima stagione televisiva, con una serata che ha confermato il peso crescente di HBO Max e Apple TV nel panorama seriale. The Pitt ha conquistato il premio principale tra i drama, mentre Widow’s Bay ha dominato la categoria comedy e ha chiuso l’edizione con un risultato storico.
La cerimonia, condotta da Mariska Hargitay, arrivava dopo una stagione di nomination particolarmente competitiva: The Pitt guidava con 25 candidature, davanti a Hacks con 24, Widow’s Bay con 19, Pluribus con 18 e Beef con 16. Ma è stata soprattutto Widow’s Bay a trasformare le candidature in un risultato da record, chiudendo l’annata con 14 Emmy complessivi, superando il precedente primato per una comedy detenuto da The Studio, che nel 2025 si era fermato a 13.
Tra gli altri risultati più importanti spiccano la vittoria di Rhea Seehorn per Pluribus, quella di Noah Wyle per The Pitt e un doppio successo particolarmente significativo per Matthew Rhys, premiato sia come miglior attore protagonista in una comedy per Widow’s Bay sia come miglior attore in una miniserie o film TV per The Beast in Me.
Emmy 2026, tutti i principali vincitori
Il premio per la Miglior serie comedy è andato a Widow’s Bay, che ha battuto titoli come Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building e Shrinking. La serie ha inoltre conquistato la regia comedy con Hiro Murai, la sceneggiatura con Katie Dippold, il premio a Matthew Rhys e quello a Kate O’Flynn come miglior attrice non protagonista.
Sul fronte drama, The Pitt è stata eletta Miglior serie drammatica, superando The Diplomat, The Gilded Age, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, Paradise, Pluribus, Slow Horses e Your Friends & Neighbors. Noah Wyle ha completato il successo della serie vincendo come miglior attore protagonista.
La categoria Miglior miniserie o serie antologica ha invece premiato DTF St. Louis, davanti a All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Beef e Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette.
Tra i premi individuali, Rhea Seehorn ha finalmente conquistato l’Emmy come miglior attrice protagonista in una serie drama grazie a Pluribus, battendo Carrie Coon, Chase Infiniti, Keri Russell e Zendaya. La stessa serie ha vinto anche per la sceneggiatura di Vince Gilligan.
Nella comedy, Jean Smart ha vinto come miglior attrice protagonista per Hacks, mentre Matthew Rhys si è imposto tra gli attori per Widow’s Bay. Tra i non protagonisti hanno vinto Stephen Root per Widow’s Bay e Kate O’Flynn, sempre per la serie Apple TV.
Per quanto riguarda le miniserie, Sally Field ha conquistato il premio come miglior attrice protagonista per Remarkably Bright Creatures, mentre Matthew Rhys ha ottenuto il secondo Emmy della serata vincendo per The Beast in Me.
Tra gli altri vincitori figurano Tom Pelphrey per Task come miglior attore non protagonista in un drama, Allison Janney per The Diplomat come miglior attrice non protagonista e The Traitors come miglior reality competition program.
L’edizione 2026 consegna quindi un quadro piuttosto netto: The Pitt consolida il proprio ruolo tra i drama più importanti del momento, Pluribus porta a casa due riconoscimenti pesanti e Widow’s Bay emerge come il vero fenomeno dell’anno, non soltanto per il premio alla miglior comedy ma soprattutto per il record di 14 vittorie complessive.
